I chose to emulate Réhahn because I respect that he takes the time to know the subjects of his photos and learn their culture.
- He adventured by himself in extreme weather conditions just to reach isolated villages.
- His photos use such a high F-stop that the focal point is in focus, but sometimes the side of the face is blurred.
- He spends time with his subjects to get to know them before he photographs them--sometimes sharing a cigar or pipe
- Réhahn wants the most natural photos, and does not ask them to do anything specific!
- He collaborates with the National Geographic and Travel Live, which is something ive always wanted to do!
My deeper meaning
I allowed my subjects to choose their poses so it was more natural. my focus is truth.
Artistic elements
I used natural lighting because it makes everything more natural, and a high f-stop so that only that face would be in focus.
